Ronald D. Hackett is an Electrical Engineer working for ManTech International Corporation, Inc in Huntsville, Alabama as a program manager.  Ron has worked on innovative ultralight antenna designs for both space and terrestrial applications, and has developed a new business area in Information Technology for the safe transfer of electronic documents across security boundaries. He manages a product called Document Detective, and he is current developing a website tracks individual tasks that converge to a single event on a specific day, such as the launch of a missile. This website is designed to work well on mobile devices, for people who are deployed to the field in support of this single event.

Ron retired as a Major with over twenty years of service in the United States Air Force, and was stationed at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Missile and Space Intelligence Center at Redstone Arsenal  in Huntsville for his last duty assignment.  Born in Sanford, Florida, he grew up playing the guitar and piano, and became an Eagle Scout in November 1972. Ron earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering specializing in Digital Electronics and Computers at the University of Central Florida and earned his commission througth ROTC. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton where he studied Antenna Theory and Electomagnetics. He has also studied business at Webster University and has completed 12 hours toward an MBA. Ron is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the states of Ohio and Alabama, and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).  Ron also served as the IEEE Huntsville Section Representative to the Joint Engineers Council of Alabama (JECA), which monitors state legislation that impacts the engineering profession.

His military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, and the National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster. The U. S. Department of State has also recognized Major Hackett for his contributions to the security of an overseas facility.

Major Hackett won the 1998 General James A. Ferguson Award for excellence in engineering, which is presented annually by the Air Force Material Command.

Ron is a Private Pilot with a single engine land rating. He is also an Amateur Radio operator, who was formerly active in digital communications or Packet Radio, and he was a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) for many years.  He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and has been a member of the Tucson Amateur Packet Radio organization, the Military Affiliate Radio Station and the Civil Air Patrol.

Ron is the son of Ralph and Sadie Hackett of Summerfield, Florida.  He is married to the former Deborah Marie West of San Antonio, Texas.  They have two adult children, Michael and Candace, and two grandchildren, Hunter and Evin.  The Hackett family resides in Fayetteville, Tennessee where they attend the First Baptist Church; although, Ron remains a Lutheran.
